He enlisted in April, 1916, and sailed with reinforcements of the 10th Light Horse. He went through the whole Palestine campaign unhurt, and was with the 5th Light Horse F.A. when Turkey signed the Peace Treaty. He returned home in April, 1919, on H.M.T. Euripedes. Prior to the outbreak of war he was a carpenter.8
