Note* | Abraham Morgan and his family were members of the Heal/Morgan party. Abraham had Perth Lot G6 in 1830. Mary had Perth Lot X26 in 1832. Abraham died of typhoid fever on 15 July 1830 - six months after arriving in the Colony and is buried in the East Perth Cemetery. His widow Mary built a house in Adelaide Terrace and ran a store. Her daughter Mary Ann married John Taylor Cooke on 28 September 1836. On 14 September 1833, both Mary Ann and her brother Abraham William Morgan were granted 1000 acres each at York. These grants were transferred to Northam on 30 November 1836. They named the farm 'Bardeen'. Abraham William continued to farm there until his death in 1871. Mary Morgan (widow of Abraham) died 2 January 1853 at Northam - aged 73 years.3 |
