[James would have been about 21 years at time of first land purchase.] He married Ellen MANLEY, daughter of William MANLEY & Margaret SCANLON, 3 Jul 1883 in Residence Of Mrs Manley. Born 1867. Ellen was James Hillier's first wife, then he committed bigamy under psuedo name Jim Davis. Ellen had 4 children, "Jim 2nd m'ge - 6 children.
