He was the son of Thomas William Smith and Christina Coates
Marriage*Clement Campbell Smith married Muriel Shea, daughter of William Gillard Shea and Alice Maude* Bradley, on 16 March 1927 at Minnivale, Western AustraliaG; WEDDINGS.

In the Minmvale Methodist Church on March 12, a wedding of interest was cele brated, the bridegroom being Mr. Clem Smith, eldest son of Mr. and Mrs. Tom Smith, and the bride Miss Shea, only daughter of' Mr. and Mrs. William Shea. The Rev. T. Cook, of Dowerin officiated. The bride, who was given away by her uncle, Mr. George Bradley, was attired in French pleated georgette, inlet with gui- pure lace. The customary veil and orange blossom wore worn and a beautiful bou quet of white roses, carnations, and fern was carried. The bridesmaids were the Misses Bear (2) and Swindle. Miss Mary Bear wore a dainty frock of mauve georgette, embroidered with silver; Miss Dolly Bear, a pretty mauve and silver tis sue frock; and Miss Swindle (a cousin of the bride) cream georgette, trimmed with pink and mauve. Each wore a erinoline hat trimmed with mauve velvet flowers and car ried bouquets of pink carnations, roses, love in the mist and fern. The duties of best man were carried out by Mr. Percy Smith, Mr. Bert Smith acting as grooms- man. During the signing of the register, Mrs. George Bradley expressively ren dered "Until". After the ceremony a re ception was held in the Agricultural Hall where numerous guests were received. Mrs. Shea was becomingly attired in a frock of bos de rose morocain and car ried a bouquet of gold roses and fern. Mrs. Smith wore navy crepe chine, with touches of red, and carried a bou quet of red roses. A feature of the toasts was the spontaneous reception ac corded the popular bridegroom when he responded. Practicaly the whole of the honorary secretarial work of this com munity, for a number of years, has de volved upon him. Both the hall and chuch were effectively decorated for the occasion by friends of the bride. After the toasts, the hall was cleared for dancing, and during the festivities the happy couple left by motor car to tour the Great Southern as far as Albany, re- turning later through the South-West. The bride's travelling frock was a rich embroidered bois de rose crepe de chine, with which she wore a black georgette coat and a dainty hat to match.
